I had a terrific experience working with Linda at Essay Evolution on my college essay. She and I shared ideas over Google Docs and had one meeting in person. Linda really helped me to organize my essay and make it much more personal. We discussed ways to bring some deeper meaning into it which, ultimately, I believe made it better. Working with Essay Evolution made the VERY stressful aspects of applying to medical school just a bit less harrowing. Linda was especially good at helping me identify which parts of my story should be highlighted to address the different emphases each school stressed. Finding a unique way to demonstrate my leadership capabilities or relate an experience with diversity was very helpful. I highly recommend her.

I highly recommend Linda Hughes for essay coaching. She worked with my daughter from beginning to end on her early decision application essays for Villanova, and my daughter was eventually accepted to Villanova. While my daughter had academic achievement levels on par with their standards, I am convinced that the final product of Linda's essay coaching added polish, personality, and character depth that probably resulted in her acceptance. Without the color and personal depth of the essay, my daughter may have simply blended in with the rest of the academically equivalent applicants. Linda was able to gradually and patiently extract a germ of a theme from one of my daughter's experiences. She then worked with her to articulate the theme and experience with writing that simply "popped".
In addition to her work on the Villanova essays, Linda brought intangible wisdom and experience to the table with her knowledge of the application process, it's timing, and what the admission's offices look for in the essay. I am glad I made the decision to outsource this part of the application process for myself, and for my daughter. It was worth it in general, but invaluable with Linda.
